Seattle Mattress Company is an expansion of Canvas Supply Company - one of the oldest companies in the Seattle area dating back to 1882; and we are still a family owned & operated company that thrives on keeping things local and supporting our local communities.

Canvas Supply Company manufactures our Seattle Mattress Company brand mattresses, and is located in Ballard not far from the Seattle Mattress Showroom. It has been home for years - and in many cases, decades - to many Seattle-area artisans and craftsmen who specialize in creating, manufacturing, and installing just about any marine vessel accessory.

As the story goes... because of steady requests by their marine mattress customers to manufacture beds & mattresses for their homes; Canvas Supply Company decided to open up a showroom to showcase their mattress products.

Through the years, we've added other high-quality, locally manufactured International brands like Serta (locally manufactured in Puyallup, WA) & Therapedic (locally manufactured in Auburn, WA) in order to give our customers a more diverse & comprehensive selection. And while we do carry a selection of non-locally manufactured organic mattresses, they do fullfill a demand by our customers to carry more healthy, environmentally-friendly bedding options.

Our Canvas Supply manufacturing team specializes in creating custom mattresses in all kinds of sizes & shapes; and they do a wonderful job making our SMC Brand mattresses! We here at the store get to hear the feedback all the time, and we wanted to take the time to let absolutely everyone know just how hard our crew works and how much time, effort and energy goes into the creation of every bed from start to finish. We've seen it first hand, and it always feels good to hear,"Wow, our mattress was just delivered and it's BEAUTIFUL! Thank you so much!"

Oct '06 - I wanted to thank you for your wonderful product. But mostly, to say how much I appreciated Bob (our beloved Manufacturing Manager) for handling a difficult situation for me. After purchasing a mattress, we found that it could not make it up our narrow stairway. The mattress had to be remade so that it could fold. Bob came to my house that very same day and assured me that the situation would be solved.

Within a few days, Bob personally delivered my new mattress and took away my old one. I was so impressed with Bob's attention to this awkward situation, that I wanted to let you know how much his customer service meant to me. I will gladly refer my friends to Seattle Mattress, as this potentially disasterous situation was handled so very professionally.
